“Nerdection Excellent Read”

If you like stories where everyone seems to be hiding something, full of lies, betrayals, and secrets, then Deception could be the right book for you. It takes place in a world with brave warriors, strange tribes, ancient mysteries, powerful gods, and dangerous enemies. If that sounds interesting, you’ll want to start reading.
Spoiler-Free Summary
Warriors of the Continuum Part Two: Deception by Roger P. Heath is the second book in a fantasy adventure series. The story continues from the first book, Warriors of the Continuum Part One: Arrival, and adds more new characters, bigger challenges, and many emotional moments that make the world feel real and exciting.
The story happens in a land of ancient tribes. Some worship the gods of light called the Iyes, while others follow the gods of darkness called Kaos. These groups often fight and do not get along.
In this book, the author also introduces magical warriors who carry the spirits of ancient heroes. They are connected to special animals called daemons, like horses, wolves, and lions. These animals are not just pets but strong partners in battle. These magical warriors have an important job: they keep the world balanced, which is called the Continuum.
As the title says, deception is a big part of the story. Almost everyone is hiding something or lying, and some characters do not even know they are being tricked. The story is full of surprises, secrets, and questions. You will see political fights, emotional struggles, strange dreams, and big battles where lives are at risk. Some want peace, others want power, and some are confused about what they want.
My Thoughts on Warriors of the Continuum Part Two: Deception
I want to praise Roger P. Heath for creating such a big and detailed world. The way he mixes ancient tribes, magic, different gods, and history is very impressive. The world feels alive, and it is easy to imagine yourself there. Every character seems to have their own story and reasons for what they do.
You will meet spirit warriors, flying dragons, and sea creatures that talk through dreams. There are also magical tools and powers that help the warriors fight. At first, it was a little hard to remember all the characters and names because there are many, but once I got into the story, I was hooked.
This second book expands on characters like Shadow, who is smart and brave but starts to doubt his leaders. It also introduces new characters: Nefra, who is a strong and fearless fighter but can be dangerous. Erin and Fletcher are normal people who get pulled into this magical world and face confusion and fear. The book really fits its title. Almost every character is dealing with lies or hiding something. The ideas of truth versus lies, light versus darkness, and good versus bad are strong and make you think.
The author mixes action, dreams, magic, and feelings very well. The book feels like a journey through the world and inside the characters’ minds.
Content Warnings
Deception is a great book, but some parts might be hard for some readers. There are many battles and fight scenes. Some characters go through loss, nightmares, trauma, and guilt. If you want a strong and thoughtful fantasy adventure that takes some time to understand but is very rewarding, you should try Deception. Just be sure to read the first book in the series before you start.
About The Author Of Warriors of the Continuum Part Two: Deception

Roger P. Heath is a life-long geologist and debut author whose favourite film is It’s a Wonderful Life, and whose bookshelves include Elif Shafak’s There are Rivers in the Sky, Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen, and Roddy Doyle’s Barrytown Trilogy.
The peculiar workings of his mind once threw out a phrase: No one knows but I, who wrote this here and why. He captured the thought, then laid the journal aside. Many sun-cycles later, he found those dust-laden notes and decided to find out what those words meant. This led him to Lanky, Jessica, and Beth. And Naga and the Iyes. And Shadow and the Ka. And … Well, to the tale of the Warriors of the Continuum, a tale of unprepared, yet spirited characters just trying to do the right thing.
