Get ready to get into the world of fantasy where darkness rules over the world. The world where light and hope fade away as soon as the moon shines bright.
Nicholas John Powter’s “The Young” is a fantastic fantasy novel with unique magic and creatures.
Spoiler-Free Plot
Swen and his son Fren live a peaceful life in The Deluge, unaware of the challenges they are about to face. Swen, a skilled warrior, has dedicated his life to protecting Fren from the terrifying Blights—creatures that kill, collect their victims’ heads, and spread darkness across the land.
Their peace is shattered when they are attacked by Rodavan, a frightening enemy with a dark and dangerous presence. Rodavan’s eerie eyes split into ten spinning fragments during his attacks, making him even more terrifying.
After repeated attacks, Swen realizes that their safety in The Deluge is gone. Together, he and Fren begin a journey to find Dason, a man searching for his purpose in the mountains. Along the way, they also hope to find a place where they can live in peace. But their path is filled with danger, as they face an evil enemy determined to achieve his dark goals.
In a world full of darkness and monsters, Swen will do whatever it takes to protect his son. But will he succeed, or will the world remain lost to demons and despair?
This is a story full of twists, mysteries, and emotional moments.
My Take on The Young
The Young is an exciting fantasy adventure filled with action, great characters, and a gripping story. From the moment I started reading, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one sitting. It’s a wonderful addition to the fantasy genre and leaves a lasting impression.
“For our heroes need to save their friends and their homes from whatever has brought this fire upon them.”
Swen is a brave warrior and a devoted father who fights against terrifying demons and beasts. I loved how he protects Fren with such strength and care, showing both his courage and humanity.
Fren is a young boy who dreams of freedom but is destined to become a warrior. It’s inspiring to see how he stands by his father and faces challenges that no one has ever overcome before.
The demons are written exactly as I imagined—dangerous, ruthless, and truly evil.
The story is full of surprises, and the world-building is detailed and engaging. The plot flows smoothly and keeps you hooked until the very end. The author wraps up the story beautifully with a feeling of hope.
I’m looking forward to more books from Nicholas Powter.
Overall, The Young is a must-read for fantasy fans of all ages. It’s a memorable story about good versus evil, with moments that will stay with you long after you finish the book.
