“Nerdection Must Read”

If you love action and adventure, the Crafting Humanity book series will be right up your alley. Carved From Wood is the second installment, following Cut From Stone. Written by Brendan O’Meara, there is so much to appreciate regarding the author’s story-telling ability. You will be hooked from the very first sentence.
This novel follows the story of James, a teenager from the Federation nation, and his friends as they attempt to restore peace to the world. In the first book, the protagonists encountered several dangerous enemies and survived intense battles… However, their journey and mission are far from over, as they have discovered a new threat in the Southern Federation.
You will struggle to put the book down with the plot twists and cliffhangers in just about every chapter. There is non-stop action, meaning you will never get bored as a reader.
Spoiler-Free Summary of Carved From Wood
In the first installment of the Crafting Humanity series, James and his friends were molded from regular teenagers into skilled warriors. More so, they were tasked with defeating the ever-powerful BlankZone, who had plans in motion to attack the already weakened Federation.
After witnessing the devastating power of the BlankZone firsthand, the protagonists decide to head south to regroup and develop a new plan. They have also heard rumors of a new threat developing in the southern regions…
Upon their arrival, they discover a new BlankZone border with even more weapons and soldiers than the previous borders they had fought at, which places even more pressure on the team.
While the conspiracies push the narrative up North, James and his team must learn as much about their aggressors as possible. If they are to defeat the BlankZone and save their nation’s people, they must devise a plan… and fast.
In this book, you rejoin the adventure as the team continues to learn more about themselves and the harsh realities of the new world. Even though some aspects of the story are unrealistic, there is still so much to learn and many lessons to take away as a young adult reader.
James and his friends will create new friendships, build allies, and come face to face with what scares them the most: the enemy threatening their very existence. Lies, secrets, and manipulation from those you least expect will also be exposed, throwing yet another twist into the story.
My Takeaway on Carved From Wood
Carved From Wood should be at the top of your list if you enjoy a book with plenty of suspense, action, and intrigue. Plot twists and cliffhangers on just about every page make it incredibly difficult to put the book down, which is always the sign of a good book.
It is worth mentioning that certain scenes, especially the action scenes, seem to drag on longer than necessary, which can dampen the element of excitement. However, overall, the story progresses very well and is easy to follow.
The characters are very well-developed and likable. This makes the story more addicting, as you want to know what happens next and how they escape certain situations. The author’s story-telling ability is excellent, which makes it easy to read.
Carved From Wood of the Crafting Humanity series is an excellent option if you are looking for a new action-adventure novel.
