How would you react if your Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich came from outer space?

A book that takes readers to a world where the line between reality and fantasy is blurred and anything is possible.

Spoiler-free Summary:

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space! by I.S. Noah is an interesting fictional story for young readers. It is a humorous book that combines action and science fiction.

Violet Wilson is preparing to go into the forest to work on a plan for her school’s journalism club proposal with her friend Pamela, as she is frustrated with the ignorance of her classmates. However, since Violet’s mom asked her to watch her younger brothers, Brad and Willys, she decided to bring them along on the hike.

The group finds themselves in a strange situation when four of them discover a flying saucer. One of the brothers, Willys, eats a sandwich from it without thinking much of it. The sandwich soon leads to trouble, as curious, sandwich-like aliens start questioning them about their son, Goobex3.

Their journey takes them on a ride to solve the mystery. Not to mention that their families and science teacher also travel to space and return back to earth with no memory of the experience.

Noah beautifully describes how ordinary experience can carry extraordinary meanings when seen from different perspective.

My take on Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space!:

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space! by I.S. Noah is a fun and refreshing read that perfectly blends young adult science fiction with coming of age adventure.

The book is written in a simple and descriptive style. The humour incorporated in describing the situations is impressive.

Noah skillfully portrays a range of human experiences. The adult characters react believably to the unfolding circumstances, while the children display both innocence and bravery. The story captures the childhood through details like food cravings and moments of fear. Noah does an excellent job in describing these situations. At first glance, the book looks like a lighthearted story for children, but as the story progresses, readers will find that it says a lot more about human experiences.

This book has a way of surprising readers on every page. The author writes in a tone that is playful yet serious when it needs to be. This balance makes the book enjoyable for the readers of all age groups.

For readers who appreciate stories filled with unexpected expectations, fantasy with real world concerns and everyday experiences, this book might be a perfect read.

About The Author Of Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space!

I.S. Noah grew up in Los Angeles in the 1960s and 70s. Watching classic TV sitcoms, reading comic books and going on camping trips with Boy Scout Troop 13, these were his favorite pastimes.

He earned an MFA in playwriting at UC Davis after attending, UCLA, UCSB, and Cal State Northridge.

After graduating, he worked as a production assistant on the television show “Falcon Crest” and other Lorimar Telepictures productions. An abrupt change of direction found him taking on the challenge of making math fun for inner city elementary students. The fact that students in Los Angeles, New York and Arkansas were always eager to participate in Mike’s Math Club meetings is the best evidence of his success in this brand of edutainment.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches from Outer Space! is his first attempt at writing a story in a book format. It is very different from writing a play, but a sequel is planned.
