They Still Haven’t Found The Body Of The First And Only Boy Who Broke Alessandra’s Heart – And They Never Will
Reading this out of the Book Description got me intrigued on the spot and had to add this book to my cart As soon as Possible, Alessandra had her heart broken once, but not anymore, she learned how to steel herself and set her goals straight, what are her Goals you ask? it’s to Kill the Shadow King and be a Queen herself.
I think I’ve been reading too many Villainess Webtoons lately, seeing how Alessandra is the perfect Villainess stereotype, with a scheming mindset and clear goals that lack the moral compass that can pull her back, which set her to be a character that a lot of readers might not like to resonate with. but as someone who loves dark and twisted characters, I enjoyed her character a lot.
The Shadow Between Us Story:
The Shadow King is a mysterious Yong man that has shadows engulfing his entire body, there is a rule that if you touch the shadow king you would be executed. with Alessandra’s older sister getting married, it’s now her turn to find a man that she can get married to, her father knowing about his daughter’s Late night adventures tries to Wed her to the closest, easiest lord he could convince of taking his daughter, just to get his hands on some money. but Alessandra has other Plans in Mind. she won’t settle for less than the King himself. First, she has to make him fall in love with her, then they would get married, and finally she would Kill him and take the Kingdom for herself. But how can she do that with other people trying to assassinate the King before she can Execute her Plan? Now she has to save his life before she can get the chance to Kill him herself.

My Thoughts:
The Shadow between us is a book that you would either love or hate, for me I really enjoyed it for what it is, the writing is simple and easy to follow, the characters are enjoyable and funny, and the world isn’t that complicated, I loved the Authors way of describing the clothing of the main characters in the book, Alessandra is a person with a unique taste in cloths and a show off to boost, so she usually designs her clothes by herself, the Author descriptive writing of the cloths is so fun to read and you can imagine the dresses Alessandra is making.
I liked Alessandra’s thinking process, while sometimes her thoughts were kind of evil, she still had a reason for them, she is selfish and while she would help someone else yes, that help would mean there is something in for her too. she is the kind of woman who doesn’t do something for free, and love to know that she is above everyone else. while that is true for the most part of the book, Alessandra will show some kindness even if she doesn’t want to. She is tough, smart and a cunning woman who will do anything to reach her goal, she might fall sometimes but will always find a way to turn everything in her favor eventually, which is pretty fun to read about.
The Shadow King, on the other hand, is a mysterious character that found Alessandra as an intriguing woman who eventually became someone close to him whom he could confine and seek for help. Uncovering his secrets and finding more about him and his power with Alessandra was fun, while he is the kind of unapproachable dark character, he ended up being sweet, caring, and a bit clumsy in his ways of expressing his feelings.
The shadow between us is a book I would recommend reading, even if the book may not be a deep or mind-blowing read, but I would recommend reading it for the fun characters and their interactions with each other, the court drama, and the fun descriptive writing of the author that would take you to that world, make you smell it even, it’s a page-turner that if it’s the type you usually enjoy, then you would enjoy it very much. The Shadow Between Us is a 4/5 Book that gets a “Nerdection Worth to read” Seal of approval.
