Percy Jackson TV Series: Seasons, Cast and Book Adaptation Guide

Originally published December 16, 2023. Updated October 7, 2026.

Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians has made the leap from page to screen, and the adventure is continuing. The first two seasons are available on Disney+, with Season 3 set to premiere on November 20, 2026.

The series follows Percy, a young demigod learning what it means to be the son of Poseidon. Greek mythology meets the very human challenges of friendship, family, and growing up—a combination that has long been part of the books’ appeal.

When does Percy Jackson Season 3 come out?

Disney announced the November 20 premiere at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026. The third season adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Riordan’s series.

Which books does the show adapt?

The story begins with The Lightning Thief, followed by The Sea of Monsters and The Titan’s Curse. Reading in that sequence lets you follow Percy’s journey from the beginning without jumping ahead to later revelations.

Season 1 introduces Percy and his world; Season 2 continues the adventure through The Sea of Monsters. With Season 3 turning to The Titan’s Curse, readers can compare how another part of the book series is brought to the screen.

Who plays Percy, Annabeth and Grover?

Walker Scobell plays Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries plays Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri plays Grover Underwood. Disney’s Season 3 announcement also names returning cast members Charlie Bushnell and Tamara Smart, alongside Levi Chrisopulos.

How does the adaptation approach the books?

In a 2023 cast interview, the actors discussed bringing familiar material to television while allowing room for new details. That remains a useful way to approach a book adaptation: some scenes can look different on screen while serving the same characters and story.

Riordan co-created the television series with Jonathan E. Steinberg and remains an executive producer. His involvement gives readers a direct connection between the novels and the creative team, although watching the adaptation is still a different experience from reading the books.
