Kindle 11th Generation (2022): Should You Keep It or Upgrade?

What the 2022 basic Kindle offers

The 2022 model has a 6-inch, 300 ppi black-and-white display, an adjustable front light, 16 GB of storage, and USB-C charging. Amazon advertised up to six weeks of battery life under its test conditions; your reading time, lighting, wireless use, and battery age affect the result.

It does not have the Paperwhite’s adjustable warm light or water-resistant design. Dark mode and warm lighting are different features: changing the page background does not add an amber front light.

For someone who mainly reads novels, those existing features may already cover the essentials. The question is whether something about your current reading experience is getting in the way.

Keep it if it still suits your reading

Keep your 2022 Kindle if you like its size, the battery remains practical for your routine, and the screen is comfortable to read. Finishing another good book is a better reason to pick it up than worrying about its release date.

Before blaming the hardware for a frustrating experience, check that it has the appropriate software update, available storage, and a sound charging cable. If a problem persists, seek model-specific troubleshooting rather than assuming a new purchase is the only answer.

Consider Paperwhite for a specific comfort upgrade
