Filled with dynamic and potent characters, thrilling plot twists, complex tech structures, and the riddles of AI, The Spear and the Sentinel will leave you yearning for more. 

Spoiler-Free Plot

The story starts with a mysterious creature more likely to be known as a God. The Japanese officer is to investigate the case of a gigantic creature that killed many on the island. The officer, Major Orlov, reported that the island exploded a massive ball of light that caused many people to be blind forever.

After the investigation, they found that the head of a human and a laptop were inside. 

Voodoo, the tech expert living a life of his dreams, isn’t completely satisfied with his services. He and his team had a mission to save the great God Algorithm stolen from a Japanese scientist and kill him. 

Kobra Siddik, a Turkic Muslim on a mission to work for her people, who the Chinese Government has suppressed. She had the duty to fight for her freedom and her beloved mother, and after her break out from the cruel prison she had been trapped in, she joined the Voodoo group with dual purposes: to help them find the Great God Algorithm and to reclaim her own identity.

My Thoughts On The Spear and The Sentinel

The Spear and The Sentinel by J.L. Hancock, in my opinion, is a great thrilling tech adventure. With a well-developed characters, intriguing environment, and engaging writing style, this book is a gem in the military-thriller genre.

What I liked most about the book is its mixture of mystery, thrill, and unexpected plot twists, making it stand out in the sci-fi and military thrill genres. The plot twists, each more surprising than the last, immediately grab the reader’s attention and keep them hooked until the very end.

Moreover, if you are a tech lover and craving a thrilling story, this book is a must-read for you. The environment takes the reader to a world of imagination full of futuristic technology and complex algorithms. The writer has created a great imaginative setting that captivates the imagination and forces the reader to drown deep into the story.

J.L. Hancock’s writing style is efficient and delightful. The flow of the story creates a deep emotional connection between readers and the characters. The exploration of love, hope, and bravery creates a thought-provoking experience for the readers.

I also loved the way Voodoo and Kobra accomplish their dreams after so many sacrifices that lead them both to find their true identity. With a powerful imagination, the writer developed the plot of God Algorithm, creating a captivating story around the complexities of the algorithms.

About The Author Of The Spear and The Sentinel

J.L. Hancock was born in Albuquerque, NM. He has worked as a martial arts instructor, lifeguard, foreign missionary, and river guide. In 2002, he enlisted in the Navy and spent twenty years as a cryptologist.

During his time in the military, Jim toiled away in the dark corners of the government intelligence communities, learned two Asian languages, and eventually conducted over one hundred combat operations with special operations forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Philippines. During the last six years of his career, he worked as the senior enlisted advisor over future concepts and innovation for the Navy special operations community where he became a well-known subject matter expert in unmanned systems, 5G, and artificial intelligence.
