Paid reviews and independence

Book Nerdection is a professional platform, and we charge a fee for editorial book reviews. The fee compensates our reviewers and helps maintain the website. What you pay for is the review itself, not a rating: our reviews are independent, and payment does not guarantee a positive rating.

How we review

Our reviewers read the full book before writing. Books undergo an initial assessment before being sent to reviewers. Our reviewers aim to provide objective reviews tailored to the book’s intended audience, with a personal touch to ensure authenticity.

You choose a timeline: Regular (6–8 weeks), Express (4–6 weeks) or Super Express (2–4 weeks). All three packages include the same full read and review. The timeline is the only difference.

Our rating system

Each published review carries the seal that matches its rating. Our lowest published rating is Nerdection Good Read (3/5). If we expect a book to rate lower, we may stop reading and cancel the review, and you receive a full refund.

Books we review

We accept most genres, ranging from fiction to non-fiction. We primarily accept e-books. If you prefer to send a physical copy, contact us and we will provide an address for shipping.

We do not review stories published exclusively on platforms like Wattpad, Royal Road, or similar sites. We do accept self-published books if they have a broad reach and are easily accessible to readers.

We do not decline books because of their genre or subject.

Declining a book and refunds

We reserve the right to decline to review any book we deem unsuitable for our website, and we are not required to give a reason. We may also stop reading and cancel a review for a book that we anticipate will receive a rating below 3/5.

In either case, a full refund is issued to the author and you are informed immediately. If we cannot feature your book, please don’t be discouraged. There may be other platforms better suited to appreciate your work.

After your review is published

Your review has a permanent page on our website, with your author bio, purchase links for our visitors and a link to your website or social media. We share it on Instagram, X and Pinterest.

You are welcome to share your review, and we encourage you to share its link. We only ask that you credit Book Nerdection as the platform that reviewed your book.
