The Light novel industry has taken over the book world by storm, with so many getting official releases each month, and with how many people starting to read them , you can see how Light novels started to make a huge presence in the west. however, with as many books that have been already licensed there is still much more out there most of us have never even heard of.
Here I list a few That I have read a fan translation of and would love for them to get officially released in the west to get more attention and to add them to my never ending (actually already full) book shelf. *heart broken*
The Villainess Wants to Marry a Commoner
The protagonist is a Japanese woman who dies by falling down a stairwell (no truk-kun) and is reincarnated in the body of her favourite game’s villain, Isabella Ali Rottenstein. What she liked in the game was not the main male’s interest, but the “mascot” of the game, whose role was to sell cash items: the commoner Ursch, and after meeting him casually, she remembered her previous life, and her love for him, making him her love interest. What’s interesting is that she keeps all of the money and experience she earned from the game, making her the most powerful being in the world.
If you’re looking for a novel that can surprise you by using stereotypical themes in an unusual way, this is the book for you. The author’s ability can be seen in how OP protagonists, otome games, and villains are used and reinvented. What is truly entertaining is how the novel and her character develop. The love between Isabella and Ursch grows from a whim to a more profound and sincere feeling that deepens as they get to know each other.
Beware of the Villainess!
She transmigrated as the villainess of a novel. So what if she’s a villainess? As the daughter of a Duke, she is rich and unemployed! She’ll simply live a leisurely life… or at least, that was what she thought until she witnessed her fiancé, the Crown Prince, having an affair right in front of her. She used to shed tears when she saw him laugh with another woman in his arms, but now, she did not reveal her emotions. Instead, she asked him a question with a bright and happy expression on her face, “Are you a son of a bi*tch?” She was dropped in the world of a novel and planned on overthrowing the original novel’s plot!
*This is literally amazing by a good female lead, as opposed to a girl forgiving guys who clearly did not value them. She’s funny, blunt, witty, sarcastic, and strong (the way she became OP is so funny. By the way, this has the cutest and sexiest ML ever*.
You’ve Got The Wrong House, Villain
While this is not your typical Villainess, it has some dark themes that fans of the genre might enjoy. “The MC is a poor soul who grew up without parents and in the slums. She was sold and used as a test subject, eventually gaining superpowers. The MC is not a Mary Sue; she is a level-headed, cool woman who will only panic inside her head (which rarely happens) when there is trouble.”
Yuri, the female MC, is strong and independent. She’s strong enough to compete with the other main characters, but not powerful enough to rule the world twice. The original characters, including the heroine, are not two-faced, as is common in Korean web novels, and Yuri is on good or neutral terms with the other characters. Yuri is designed to be an emotionless character. However, whenever she makes physical contact with the male lead, Lakis, all of her emotions return. Because Yuri enjoys the sensation of regaining all of her emotions, she touches Lakis’ hands and body whenever she can, which is truly creepy. Keep in mind that she begins this type of behavior within the first week of meeting Lakis, even though he is severely injured and unable to move. Lakis feels something similar to a marijuana high whenever Yuri touches him, so he welcomes the physical contact as well.
Now for the story’s biggest flaw: the romance. The romance simply does not make sense. The author appears to have inserted unnecessary, unexplained plot devices into the story in order to advance the romance, other than that, this one is a really good read.
A Villainess? No, a Heinous Young Lady
Rosalia, a Marquis’ daughter, for some reason only lived on the grounds of the Marquis’ residence. When she was sixteen, she fell in love with a red-headed knight who happened to wander into the garden by accident. Something triggered the powerful Marquis’ daughter at that moment. A knight who is a reincarnated but is unaware that he is a capture target in an otome game, and the main villain, who began to change after meeting the knight.
Rosalia’s downfall would be the heroine who has been reborn with game knowledge.
“The novel is pretty interesting. There are only a few translated chapters up, but the story seems pretty well-thought-out“. The story is still in its early stages, but so far it has been quite captivating. It’s also nice to see that the protagonist isn’t your run-of-the-mill “villainess” in name only; she can be both sweet and poisonous, she has a clear goal in mind, and she’s willing to fight and, possibly, kill for her newfound love. would love to see this one get a chance to come to the west.
Adonis
Ianna, the main character, is one you could probably talk about for hours. Her personality is resolute, direct, and honest in her beliefs and morals. She isn’t wishy-washy, nor is she someone who kills people for no reason. She appears to be the ideal middle ground. She portrays her age and her background. A duchess of war who has seen thousands of deaths and is not easily frightened. Some may accuse her of being overly calm, but keep in mind that she has been at war for more than ten years and has killed thousands, if not tens of thousands, with her own rapier. As for Arhad, the male lead, the sheer intensity of his love for Ianna is enough to make your heart skip a beat. He’s an intriguing character, and his feelings for Ianna can’t be described simply as “love,” as that seems to simplify their complicated relationship. There’s more to say about him, but anything more would potentially ruin the story.
This is most likely the best Korean romance novel ever written. Everything about the characters, the intricate world building, the plot, the action, and the romance is flawless. The writing and translation are most likely LEAGUES above what you’ve seen in most Korean novels. Because of how anticipated and well written each interaction between the MC and ML is, you get shivers.
I’m Not a Villainess!! Just Because I Can Control Darkness Doesn’t Mean I’m a Bad Person!

She was reborn in the same location she had read about in her favorite novel. That is, Reshiya, a kingdom where spirits coexist.
