Frequently asked questions

What format does the Query Letter Builder use?

Your letter is assembled in a standard order: a greeting, an optional line on why you chose this agent, your pitch, your book’s title, genre, word count and comparable titles, your bio, and a sign-off.

How long should a query letter be?

The tool shows a live word count as you type. Around 250 to 350 words is a useful starting point; follow the agent’s guidelines.

Is my letter saved?

Your fields are saved in your own browser as you type, so they’re still there when you return on the same device. The tool does not send these entries to Book Nerdection. Copy your letter before you clear your browser data.
