1. What was the initial spark or idea that led to Crimson Silhouettes?
The Town that Cried Werewolf is a splendid horror thriller novella that inspired me to create Crimson Silhouettes. The desire to create a horror novel in Puerto Rico was a huge motivator, too.
2. How would you describe the central themes of the book?
Good versus evil, power, betrayal, and sacrifice.
3. The title Crimson Silhouettes is quite evocative—what does it signify in the context of the story?
The crimson stains and silhouettes in the story.
4. What challenges did you face while writing this book, and how did you overcome them?
The book length was the greatest challenge because I am accustomed to making shorter books. Hard work, outlining, brainstorming, consistency, and perseverance helped me create this book.
5. Do you plan your plots in detail, or do you discover the story as you go along?
Brainstorming and outlining help a lot with this, but I also go with the flow.
6. Are there any scenes or characters in Crimson Silhouettes that surprised you as you wrote them?
Yes.
7. What kind of emotional experience do you hope readers walk away with after finishing this book?
I hope readers enjoy this novel and feel ambivalent. It would be great if they read my other books! 🙂
8. Who are some of the authors or storytellers who have inspired your writing?
J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, and plenty of movies and anime inspired me.
9. Has your writing changed over time? If so, in what ways?
Yes. By reading a lot of books and writing, I keep learning and becoming better at giving vivid descriptions, creating unique content, making excellent dialogue, etc.
10. What’s next for you—are there any sequels, new books, or genres you’d like to explore?
Yes. I will continue creating books for all three of my series’ (The Griffin Knight, Twilight Nightmares, and Ellie Graves). I would like to implement romance into one of my future books, and more humor is always a plus! I plan on creating more standalone novellas and side stories for the Twilight Nightmares series.
